The Coprosperity Fund is putting the “eco” in “startup ecosystem” with its first three investments of 2025, which we are excited to announce in an Investment Announcement edition of our blog post for this month.

Since the Coprosperity Fund began its operations in Tanzania in June 2025, we have received over three hundred applications for funding. Out of those three hundred, thirty prospective small businesses were shortlisted. From those thirty, the following three small businesses were selected to receive funding and support.

And without further delay, here they are…

Conscious Way Tours: Eco-Friendly Traveling in Tanzania

www.conscioustraveltanzania.com

Conscious Way Tours is a socially-driven travel company based in Tanzania, dedicated to creating meaningful, eco-conscious, and community-based travel experiences. Founded by Christina Modester, their mission is to connect travelers with Tanzania’s natural beauty and cultural richness while ensuring that every journey directly benefits local communities and supports conservation. From Kilimanjaro treks and wildlife safaris to cultural immersions and volunteer programs, we design journeys that inspire travelers and leave a positive impact.

Christina Modester is a young entrepreneur from Tanzania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Moshi Cooperative University. While most expected her to pursue a traditional career in Human Resources, her path took a different turn.

Growing up surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of Kilimanjaro and Serengeti, she developed a deep love for nature and a strong sense of responsibility to protect it. At the same time, I saw how tourism, when done carelessly, could harm both the environment and local communities. “This realization inspired me to create something different — a way to welcome travelers while also safeguarding heritage.”

That’s how Conscious Travel Tanzania was born: a tour company rooted in eco-friendly practices, cultural respect, and meaningful impact. “My vision is to show the world Tanzania’s natural beauty while ensuring that every trip contributes to conservation and empowers local communities.”

“For me, choosing this journey wasn’t just about business — it was about purpose. I believe travel should do more than move people from one place to another; it should connect, inspire, and leave the world better than we found it.”
