The Coprosperity Fund (the “Fund”), founded in 2024 in Zanzibar, invests in small businesses in Tanzania and the East African Community. Unlike microlenders, the Fund does not make loans to small businesses. Instead, like angel investors, the Fund makes investments in small businesses for an equity stake, and provides mentoring services to help the Fund’s portfolio of businesses grow.
The Fund also acts as an investment management company for third party capital. Investors seeking to diversify their portfolios with an investment Tanzania and the East African Community can invest in the Fund, which in turn will invest the capital in small businesses in the region, providing regular reports to investors. The Fund is open-ended, and is open to investment in all industries and capitalization.
